thanks to everyone who posted comments confessing what they’re doing up at night when they should be sleeping in bed.  some of those comments had me going “oh yeah, me too” and some of them had me laughing out loud.  you guys are fun when you’re under-slept!  and now… drumroll… eyeroll…

the winner belongs to this comment:

I stay up way too late, mostly because I’m a new mom. Jasmine goes to bed at 8pm, and any hours left to me after that are the hours I use to reclaim my sanity. I craft, I knit, I bake, I get caught up on emails and clean my fridge. When Greg finally drags me to bed I procrastinate by closing myself into the ensuite with mud masks and my manicure set and/or a hot shower. Once I’m IN bed, I will fight my exhaustion with angry birds or the current novel I have in iBooks.
Usually, between the hours of 2 and 3am, Greg will wake up, reposition me (head on bedside table, legs twisted in covers), take away my iPad, find the tv remote on the floor and turn off the television.
That’s how I do nocturnal :).

sounds like you need an owl to keep you company while you’re reclaiming that sanity, bernadette.  although just for the record,  the vivid picture of you falling asleep surrounded by electronics and mud-masked doesn’t really sell your technique.  haha,  i’ll get the owl to you this weekend!

i had a lot of fun giving away something in exchange for all of your confessions; hopefully we can do this again soon.  right now it’s 23:00 and i’m about to clean my house, do the 30 day shred, shower, and make a lunch for derek to take to work in the morning; that’s what i’m doing most of the time when i stay up too late!

Entry filed under: goings-on.

my kids are famous! two on the go

I don’t know Joan…seems fishy to me that it went to one of your sisters. Isn’t there a rule about no family members entering or anything??
